Is anyone else having problems with their 30D? I cant seem to get it to focus correctly. I went out to the park on a sunny day and shot about 400 pictures with my 70-200m f/4L. Most shots came out clear but when viewed at 100% none were razor sharp like they were on my Rebel XT. I tried shooting at all apetures and shutter speeds ranged from 1/500th - 1/2000th. The noise level also seems to be higher than my Rebel. I shot two pictures on my 30D and Rebel XT of some buildings downtown both at ISO 100, f/11 and 1/160th on the same lens. When I looked the pictures side by side in photoshop the 30D had more noise. HELP! What am I doing wrong? I have firmware ver 1.0.4. |

were you shooting in RAW or TIFF/JPEG?
It could well be the in-camera processing (sharpening, noise reduction) at work, where it differs from the 350D that you were used to. A fair comparison would be comparing the RAW files. |

the pictures at the lake were shot in JPEG and the downtown pics were shot in RAW.
