She did say nearly everything. At least I don't have any 1 votes yet, although somebody was thoughtful enough to slap me with a 2. Thank you very little. :-/

The three have completely different color schemes and subject matter -- the only thing they have in common is being uncropped in portrait mode.

For some reason I always vote every uncropped portrait mode picture 5.2870, just seems like the right thing to do. ;)

I wish I knew what I was doing back then. But then again, my camera was a point and shoot (2.5 megapixels) and I had no idea about post processing. The shot is a full size (no crop) out of cam pic that for some reason the voters seem to think is oversharpened - just the way the cam took pics.

Not displeased at all with the score. The memories this challenge has brought back by going through all the old pics makes suffering through another average score worth it.

Plusses that score can't erase:
Found locations forgotten for 4 years - have to go back with new cam
Compositional mistakes I cannot believe I made which now make me cringe - nice to see I learned something along the way
No processing what so ever back then - interesting to see the difference in opinion I had then and now about certain choices
Point and shoot camera techniques to get a pic that can be applied to the dSLR - my p&s went places I never even thought about putting the 20D into
Growth - the most interesting...to see what I was taking pictures of then and compare to what I am taking now. All I can say is back then I seemed to be afraid to take certain types of pics that now don't phase me at all. My subject matter then was very narrow and now it seems nothing is off limits except people...just can't seem to get past this one but now it is not so much a 'fear' thing as it is a 'lack of model' thing.

Just some toughts...

There were some great shots, and probably the highest group of scores I have ever posted. Great work all!

Dropped a bit, but still pretty happy! I've voted on 21% so far and commented on the ones that caught my eye. Will chip away at the rest during the week.

It was fun to review that year's pix. A lot of travel, a lot of nature. Was on a big aerial photo kick too.

I think all the "critical people" voted today. Hopefully it'll do nothing but rise over the course of the rest of the week.

I've got a well deserved score of - Avg: 3.9211

I didn't have much to choose from as I got my first digital camera at the very end of 2002. I went with a humorous shot but only for select few. So I am expecting a 3.5 final vote.

But I figured it was better than this alternative

Smelling brown at the moment, didn't do much photography in 2002, most pictures I had to chose from were point & shoot pictures. I've got a feeling the average score for this one won't be very high ;)

Just finished voting on the Best of 2002 Challenge, and what a romp it was. Wish I had a digital in 2002 so I could have played too. Those reporting low scores mustn't blame me... I counted, in my scoring:

seven 10
twenty-one 9
fourteen 8
fifty-nine 7
forty-seven 6
and the rest 5

I didn't vote but did wander through the entries - it's clear to me that many of you were very good photographers long before you got digital cameras, and that some of you got very nice digital cameras early on. :-)

Also very apparent that some folks have awesome post-processing skills! And enjoyable challenge to view - thanks to all who participated!

The challenge description should have said "only use your skills from 2002 in your post editing". Not that it would have changed anything. :P

Even so, this is on pace to be my best-scoring shot this year : (

Getting my best score ever so far. Now does this mean I'm getting better or worse at this? Hmmmm.
