It would be nice to put on the left side of the mian page a list of the GTGs that are going on... wiht the date and the City info as a link to the thread...
It is VERY difficult to notice that a new gtg is going on as the other threads push it out of the way quickly |

We actually already have a user-maintainable events calendar on our list of planned enhancements.
It's quite a complex project, so I can't promise it soon, but there's a lot of us that would like to see it happen.

Don't want anything COMPLEX... Just would like to see a list of GTGS and the date on the left side ... as clickable links to the threads about the GTG Plus it is extremely easy to do ... and maintainable.. monthly

Rendering the display is easy to do, but we also need an interface for users to enter and update the information as well as cancel events, and a database to store it. Responsibility for keeping the event information current should fall on the event organizers and not on the Site Council, so the interface also needs to be made user-friendly.

That's WAY too complicated... a sinple form to enter the date, where the gtg is .. .and the thread number... and the instructions for the web site to delete at the end of the calendar month that the gtgs are in ... is more simple..and can be done in a short time...
