Congratulations to p2jvr for his double whammy on this site! Two daily awards today!
Daily Awards catagories
He really needed this boost and deserves it!
(I know I am biased but I also know how much it means to him)
PS edit just to say please cross your fingers for John as his new internet company goes "live" today after two years very hard work building it! Microsoft watch out!!!!!!! Seriously some good thoughts would be appreciated!

John's busy in the office at the moment fixing last minute hitches so he hasn't seen this thread! So I'll step in to say congrats to Cindy. Well done, it's a lovely shot and well deserved winner!

Well, after seeing posts about this web site, I joined and put up a few of my portfolio shots. Yes, I won a daily award... but:
I also voted on a few other pictures, and I also left a few comments (to people that stated that they appreciate honest feedback.)
Well, I won't be leaving any more comments. And I'll rethink if I'm going to stay there or just let my account die silently.
Image I voted on.
And that caused this comment on my "water into wine" deja vu photo.
Good luck to all!

Robert Mann, aka banmorn, had a winner in the Flowers category. And srdanz won in Portrait. Our Aussie_Bluey is Timothy Lubcke. He scored a double, taking Under Water and Wildlife. KarenNfld took the prize in Cityscape. Mark Bond, who goes by marbo here, won in Seascape. But beamsclan, who is Daniel Beams over there, hit the triple by collecting wins in People, Landscape and Sport.
Well Done and Good Luck to all the dpc'ers who are dominating at DailyAwards.com.
Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Seems that fella has a bit of an attitude problem. Did you do something to tick him off? or did he just overeact to your comment? It was honest criticism to my way of thinking. You shouldn't let one idiot spoil the site for you. I say keep on submitting and commenting over there.

In addition, legalbeagle just picked up a daily double/congrats.
Yeah, I'll stick around some more. Sounds like fun, with the relaxed rules (talking about time restrictions not editing) I can cherry-pick my dpc portfolio images and upload them there from time to time and see how they do. |

I noticed this in the FAQ 'Does the system monitor my votes?
Yes. There is a watchdog script that runs occasionally and looks for an abnormally high percentage of low votes. Please try to be objective and fair when casting your vote. Should you find an image you believe deserves a very low vote, by all means, you should vote what you feel is fair. An occasional low vote will not flag your account. If your account is selected, you will receive a warning message, if it is flagged again, it could be deleted
I wonder how that would go down here? |

Amber, are you talking about the last part... because DPC is tracking votes, but it only removes the votes from the total, not the voter. I don't think that I would be in favor of removing anyone for anything as long as they abide by the ToS. |

I'm talking about monitoring people who perhaps troll a lot...not just removing their votes...I know the arguements about 'their votes even out in the voting', but I just found it interesting that that site takes the stance it does. |

I suspect that the monitoring of voting patterns there is done automatically by the site's software same as it is here. dpc also has the threat of removing an errant account in it's challenge rules.
"Users whose vote patterns suggest an intent to unfairly disrupt the system will have their votes ignored and may be suspended from site functions. DPChallenge also monitors and enforces a strict policy against fraudulent accounts and 'ghost' ballots. Any attempts to alter the point totals in any way for any photograph will result in immediate loss of account and a ban from the site."
