OK OK, this is probably going to really split the community, but i just have to put it out there,

wouldnt you think it would be a GREAT idea, that every ribbon winner should have to show their editing steps, on how they created that amazing photograph, i am NOT saying this because i dont think they dont deserve it, I FEEL it would be a GREAT learning tool for the community, lately i feel that there isnt a lot of learning going on, the forums have questions and stuff, but there isnt as much Direct learning

what brought me to this idea was the deja vu II blue ribbon, thats an amazing shot, and i would love to learn what that person did in their editing steps to finalize that photo.

so please post your thoughts but please do not put me down for my idea, a simple yes or no and why would do,

WOW, howcome i didnt thik of that!

Great idea, would especially be helpfull to people who are just starting out. There is a learning section, but to learn what each photograph went through to become a chellenge winner is a great idea!

This idea has actually come up a few times before. I don't think we'll ever require it (or that we should) but it would be super if people would voluntarily share what they did.

I think it would be good (maybe not required). The other suggestion I would like to see is a before image so we could see the changes, crop e.t.c.

That idea actually has been brought up before, and it seems like a lot of people usually like the idea. It would be great to see 'how they did it' on those awesome shots. I think the general thought was usually, yeah, that would be great, but just not right to 'force' the people to have to do it. I guess that is my position, I like the thought of being able to see how it was done, but I don't like the thought of requiring it from anyone that for any reason just doesn't want to provide it. It would be nice though. Of course, if you see a shot that really grabs your attention and you want to know, you can always like pm the photog and they would probably be glad to 'teach' you in a lot of cases :-)

Heck if I ever win a ribbon I will tell you exactly what I did to make and process the image. But its mainly up to the person that does, kinda suxs seeing a winning image and an N/A in the discription. Personally I feel this is a learning site, and if you don't give back its kinda rude. JMHO.

Good idea, but it really should remain a courtesy thing. If it is required, then the ones that think the whole idea is BS will just put together some BS info and put it out.

We do have a special section established for people who want to elaborate further on how their entries were made.

Personally, I always list the editing steps unless I'm right up against the submission deadline, if for no other reason than to not have to remember them days later if a DQ request is made.
