I thought I would share with you all a Magazine that has just been released with my image as their front cover. They approached me to use them and they are also using my photographs in the next 3 issues. The images were all taken 250 meters (820 feet) underground.
The Longwall Magazine
Scroll down until you see 'The Longwall Magazine' with a Miner standing with his hands on his hips.
I have done front pages of major newspapers before but this is my first front cover of a magazine.

This is the comp site, others could be interested too, it's open world wide and the "Blue" is worth AUD10,000. |

My wife and I were caretakers of the Lions Youth Camp (Lake Moondarra) in 1984 and had a "disagreement" with the Boss ("Tugger") we left then and now in Adelaide. |

Peacocks??, don't remember them. We had a resident emu that drank paint and a roo that terrorised anyone that cared to go jogging, he'd pace them, overtake them then stop and wait for them to catch up. Unnerved the staunchest of joggers. Also, a feral cat that would order cattle dogs off the property, 10' python won the day eventually though. |

Hahahaha...maybe the peacocks came in later. There were also the resident pelicans that were a little too friendly at times.
I remember riding out there on the back of a motorbike with KFC on the back for our picnic lunch. And losing my sunglasses due to...err..speed!! But I didn't care...it was just a great place to visit.

The duck lice were a bit of a problem, my 7 year old son had an umm... appendage bigger than mine, maybe I should go back to Mt Isa. |

Wow, that's really sweet!
The added bonus for you is that you get to work around Geologists, undisputedly the coolest people on earth. Granted, Mining Geologists /slash/ Mining Engineers are much less cool than Exploration Geologists.
It's also well known that Australian Geologists are the best in the world, second only to Canadian Geologists. ;-)
Congrats!

Thanks everyone for your congrats. It is rather dirty down there and awkward to carry everything up off the ground. But fortunately they usually give me a guide to help me. I have to go down there again soon...but will need to get the new equipment passed first.

Hehehehe...yeah. I enjoy going underground....but as I have to carry an extra 20% of my bodyweight in underground equipment plus all my own equipment on top...I am usually exhausted by the end of the eight hours.
I also received a copy of the magazine today and was surprised to see the image used 4 times in the same magazine as well as another 3 images of mine scattered throughout it. Yippee!!
