Okay I know I am probably in the minority here but I would love to see what kind of digital illustrations other people do from photos. It could be a fun challenge.
Sorry just trying to participate! |

There's nothing stopping you from creating a challenge in a thread similar to the advanced editing challenges run previously. You'd just need a place to host the entries and allow votes/comments.

I don't know what "defines" a digital illustration- it's a good question. I guess in my case I use a photo or a series of photos where I trace over objects or scenery in illustrator and then discard the photography -meaning the original photo is completely gone; where as when a photo is filtered or parts directly colored on might be "digital manipulation" since the original photo is there it's just changed or altered.
Perhaps someone knows a better way to "categorize this" but iI think it is part of the evolution of art in this "digital" age. |

Well, speaking of challenges it would be practical to have on this site, I think it would be cool to have an "Illustration" challenge.
"With only Advanced Editing allowed, make your photo look like an illustration."
I realize that with the art filters this isn't particularly difficult, but I'd still like to see the competition for whose "illustration" is the best. |
