I suspect that for $65 it's not the best lens they have.....

I love the Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 XR Di, but that doesn't necessarily mean all of Tamron's lenses are as high of quality.

Assuming it's sharp and has fast focus (which I'm doubting) it might be a decent lens if you never shoot indoors and it's sunny a lot where you live.

Looking around one can't find a whole lot of info on this lens. It does have a Plastic Mount (like the canon kit lens) and I would have to guess that it does not have Internal Focus...meaning the front element rotates (like the canon kit lens).

The reviews I did find stated that it was slow to focus and soft.

The lens was made in late 90's and 00 sold primarily to filmies.

I couldn't see any mention of the 80-210 on photozone.de's lens performance survey in the comparison of short telephoto zooms for EOS but it did have a Tamron 80-200 f-4.5-5.6 - could they be the same lens? The 80-200 in that survey was rated poor.

In my price list from a couple of years ago, the 80-210 is listed as the second-cheapest of all the Tamron AF lenses.

All up, I'd suggest you're probably best avoiding it.
