It would be nice to know why this scored so low but had very positive comments.
I personally felt it was a well-executed photograph and I see no reason for this to score 5.05.

Any enlightments ?

Yeah;

1. It's "noisy", it shows "grain". In the DPC environment this usually is a kiss-of-death, except in the case of well-executed, gritty/grungy images where the noise is part of a down-tempo mood. The noise cost you points.

2. It's a "sterile" photograph, it doesn't bring any emotions into play, it's hard to "connect" to. It's well-executed, and even interesting from a "design" point of view, but as a rule such images suffer in the popular vote. Those that like it like it a lot, but most people can't relate to it and don't score it above a 5.

Those would be my insights.

its a cool shot, i dont know those white lines are but i like the shot, to me it looks like it was drawn with a pencil.

other then a cup there is nothing els that sticks out of the photo,

i know i dont score high here either because what i like isnt what the majority of DPC likes. its a hit or miss type of thing.

I gave it a 5 because to me it just seemed like a photo of a glass with some white lines around it. What am I supposed to like about it? The reason I gave it as high as a 5 was because the white lines suggested that you had followed the challenge.

didn't vote on this one but I think it's cropped a bit tight. Can't even follow the flow of the lines you made around the glass. I probably would have given it a 5 or 6 personally. I like the graininess.
