I was really quite pleased with my photo this week and was looking forward to checking my score this morning, on loading the home page i saw my score was below 4! Fortunately I had 3 comments so I took a look, and all three said I had a child in the picture.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont have a child in the picture! It is a self portrait! I am 22 and 6ft tall!
That feels better.
I guess its my fault really for not making it obvious from the photo who the person is or for that matter how old they are. Oh well theres always next week.

I'm starting off by saying what I'm going to tell you I learned the hard way.
Dont submit work you are personally satisfied with cuz it's just gonna get bashed by everyone else. You'll get all bitter about it like me. Theres always gonna be something wrong with your image, whether you think it's perfect or not. My advice to you is shoot your images for the challenge but keep the best ones for yourself if you really like them that much. Oh, and go take pictures cuz you want to. |

I'm gonna give you the opposite advice. The only way I can survive having a photo do poorly in the challenge is if I can say, "Well, screw it - I like it."

Well looking to be a professional photographer once I'm done school... I kind of value the opinions of other people. I'll learn not to take it so personally but I still care what other people think.
Read the thread about being confused. look at my picture, and give an opinion.

Thanks for the kind words, I do feel I have quite thick skin and can take criticism about my photographs, in fact I look forward to receiving it, I am very new to photography and am often unsatisfied with my photos but don̢۪t know why. It's just annoying when people say your photo doesn̢۪t meet the challenge when you know yourself that it does. But as I said in my original post I guess it̢۪s my fault for not making it clear in the photo.
I think it's going to be along week : )
