What is the advantage to using Adobes DNG (Digital Negative)?
Should it be used?
If so, are the bugs fixed?

The big advantage is the vendor independence - that is if you ignore that it's Adobe pushing it for the most part.
I don't use it because all I hear is bad things (not sure of the current state) for no benefit - yet. I hope it takes off because I hate the way some manafacturers are going to be (or are?) encrypting RAW data (to drive out the better RAW converters and lock people into their solutions if you ask me) :-/ |

| Also Adobe undates the DNG converter more often than PS's raw converter. Currently neither my PS CS or Extensis Portfolio apps reconigize raw files from my E-500, but I can convert them to DNG and use them with no problem. |
