I just purchased my first Digital SLR and I am loving it. When I purchased this I also bought a SB-600. I have read the manual and can not figure out how to set this to Channel 3 so I can use it off the camera. Can anyone give me some options to try. Greatly appricate all the info. |

You have to set the camera to commander mode and the flash to that mode as well the default channel is 3

Glad to hear I am not the only one. I was beginning to think that I could not do this at all I thought maybe I needed a SB 800 but I thought when I bought this they told me I could use it off the camera. I really hope you and I can figure this out. |

I could use immediate help before I throw the damn things against the wall...(kidding)
It seems to have locked up (or I locked it up somehow)and there's lock icon on the unit that doesn't appear anywhere in the manual. So I'm stuck. It flashes but I have no control access.
Please....SOS!!!

Don't throw it! Just press and hold "-" and "Mode" for about two seconds and it will unlock.
To use the SB-600 wirelessly, make sure the camera is in Commander mode and then set up the flash by pressing and holding the "Zoom" and "-" buttons for about two seconds. Press the "Mode" button to turn wireless mode on, then press the On/Off switch to return. it will fire synched with the camera now.
