heh...Thanks for all the help the other day...I decided on this bad boy here:

It's a Traxxas Stampede. I played with it a little because it was dark, this is definately what I had in mind, it's a sick little beast...even does a little wheelie if you hit it hard enough...you can buy tons of stuff for it like a new motor that is faster and shocks, etc...

Anyway, thanks again for the help all.

If you start looking at brushless motors and controllers, you can really make the best fly.

BTW, I have a Traxxas Rustler, basucally the same truck and they are tons of fun for the money.

Leroy, if I can be so bold, how much did you pay and who did you buy it from?

I think about $125 on sale at Tower Hobbies... They have it for for $139 right now.

You will also need a battery and a charger, at least with mine, I did. Then you'll want to upgrade stuff...it's like buying a dslr lol...

I got the charger that you can plug into your wall, or clamp onto your car's battery...2000mah nicad battery...so figure add $60 for the battery and a decent charger.

I picked up RC Driver magazine, and there's a nice article in there about how to make your own battery packs. I'm probably going to make a spare myself...not sure why, maybe because I feel I can solder it better than wherever they put them together anyway.

I'll probably actually end up selling my nikkor 80-200 f/2.8D ED and picking up a T-maxx nitro-powered truck as well...actually I may sell everything except the 18-70 and the d70 itself...I have issues.

Looks like this one, kind of. If it is that thing is fast.

Got one of those too... they are loads of fun! Set the suspension tight enough and it'll do a 4-wheel burnout on asphault :-)

oh...and they'll be like "mom...can you please order a dumptruck full of dirt so we can make a track in the backyard" hahahah...I've already considered that myself.

Don't worry, with enough runs you'll make a track :-)

Find a local track, most cities have them but few know about them (alas RC drivers are fairly quiet). There is good fun to be had on a dirt track, especially with a few other drivers.

I run offroad electric buggies, Losi XXCR and and an Associated B2. Great fun (and there's a certain sick joy in waiting for the neighbour kids to bring out their RadioShack 'Camaro' and then burn by it at 40km/h (top gearing on these things).

These things are also great practice for motion panning. If you can pan with a 20" vehicle going on 30km/h at 5m away, you're in good shape (I've yet to master it but I've seen it done).

There's no doubt that I definately cannot make one here...but at my camp, in Pymatuning, we have 2 acres...unfortunately, the trailer sits near the back of the lot, so it would have to be infront of it...not sure if I like that idea, but what are you going to do...a plan is definately in the works.

Do you guys think a Ranger with a 4.0L can pull a trailer with a bobcat on it from Pittsburgh to Pymatuning? I can get the bobcat no problem, my bro-in-law owns a few...how the heck do I get the dirt there though...I guess you'd have to order in a dump-truck full somehow...that or go to a baseball field, pull my truck and load it up with some infield haha.

NOOOO... those Bob Cats are heavy and will squat a full-sized truck. You'd need at least a 3/4 ton to haul one safely.

Pulling it is not the issue. Stopping it is the problem.
