Thanks a lot for your help everyone :)!
I was also thinking of buying my dSLR cam on eBay but I'm too scared for that since I might end up with something damaged :(. There are no guarantees with eBay sadly.

Smasher, I don't know your budget, but Costco has the Pentax *ist for $550. They're selling for about that much USED on Ebay. They D50 isn't much more. They have the 350 XT for $799. I don't know if you have, or you know someone with a Costco card.... I have one. If you happen to live in the VA area, I'd be happy to take you there. ;)
Also, here in Harrisonburg is a place called Glenn's Fair Price. They're good to that name. Gary (son of Glenn) told me he's never had the occassion to to sell used digital, but if he ever does... Gary doesn't put anything on his shelves unless he's sure it's in good working order. I've bought all but one of my cameras there, and generally have considered it all good experiences. |

Thank You!! Ebay is a rip off and a hassle IMO. People there will pay new prices for used stuff if not more just to be bidding. Then you also have to worry about being ripped off. I know people make sucessful purchases there everyday but I won't mess with them. I'd rather pay the extra and get it from somewhere I know I'll get it after paying for it. My peace of mind is worth a couple hundred extra bucks to me.

The EOS Digital Rebel's 35-zone, AF point-linked Evaluative Metering Sensor and 3 metering modes make the art of controlling exposures as easy or advanced as you want. 35-zone Evaluative Metering ensures accurate, consistent exposure, taking into account lighting extremes and subject position through the active focusing point. Whether the light is bright and sunny or darkly atmospheric, whether it comes from the front or the back, exposure is detailed, natural and flattering. Control is there when you want it, with partial metering to bring extra sensitivity to high-contrast situations, or center-weighted average metering in manual exposure mode.
