None as it's shown in that picture. You can attach most lens hoods backwards for easier storage. That's what that picture shows.

Yup, that's how we store our lens hoods when the camera's in the bag. More compact. All my lenses have their hodds reversed on them in my bag except the 10-22mm, where the hood ingrases the diameter dramatically; so that one's stored in a narrow pocket at the front of the bag.

sorry to hijack the post, but where can I get one of those hand straps thingies? what are they even called?

The normal strap works well enough, but sometimes I would like to have something way smaller like this hand strap. I would like to be able to swap between the two easily

Anybody?

On the 20d, you need to have the battery grip for the hand strap to work. I don't know about the 30d.

There are some aftermarket hand straps that attach using the tripod mount; that's actually one pictured in the OP's post. I don't have links to them, but need to research 'em because I like the idea as well, and I don't want the extra weight and size of the battery grip. The downside is that it makes mounting a good, solid quick-relase plate a hassle.
I wish Canon would put a hand strap anchor on the bottom right corner of their DSLRs; it would make things so much nicer!

The above site appears to offer a well constructed option. A Google search also turns up discussion of this product at Rob Galbraith's site. Note that the plate does have a hole for tripod mount, but now your mount hole will be offset from the lens centerline.

I like that strap better but $40.? thats pretty steep. Those on e-bay are about $20. i just searched camera hand strap and found that one.

I prefer a wrist strap over anything else. Similar to a p&s just a little safty strap to catch the camera if it slips from your hand.
