What is the criteria to choose the appropriate picture resolution, in order to optimize memory card usage? for example, using Sony F717's datasheet, the highest resolution has 2560x1920 pixels while high resolution is 2048x1536, and you could either select fine or standard quality and that will give you different combination. Say if I am only interested to print up to 8x10" prints, do I select highest resolution with 'stardard' or high resolution with 'Fine' combination?

What is the major modulating factor: the 'resolution', or the 'quality' scale?

Thanks for the advise!

I always use fine resolution no matter what image size i choose.

I have made 8x10 prints using the 1280x960 and had very good results. And I can get 202 pics on the 128mb MS.

I guess the main factor is what quality you are after in your prints. That should determine what image size will suit you best.
