can anyone here tell me of a good ftp server and post a link if possible a free down load site.

You need a server or client? Also, which platform will it be running on?

If using Windows XP, you can use the "Windows File Explorer"

Just type ftp.domain.com and it'll ask you for your password.

Or you can use your browser and type ftp.whatever.com instead of www.whatever.com

ftp server : Serv-U
ftp client : SmartFTP

That would be an ftp client, not an ftp server.

You want to serve up files from your computer for others to download?

I use BulletProof FTP server at home and at work. It's so easy to use and was exactly what I was looking for.

It's been awhile since I've used it...but Cuteftp was super easy to use.
