That's not necessarily true. And I wouldn't ever pay for anything that demanded Western Union only. |

Total scam. Any time you're asked to send money via western union to someone you don't know it's a scam. They use a fake name/ID and it's not traceable. They walk away with cash and you never hear from them again. |

Maybe that will be the telling sign. I'll email him back and tell him I'll buy if he makes a 600 dollar "buy it now" on ebay with paypal payment to a verified account |

If it is actually facilitated through ebay and you have the patience and money available to wait on a refund of your money that you might as well try. Last summer I remember there was a mistake/scam on Amazon where they were selling the 20D for 600 and the 1Ds for 800. It was in the Amazon Marketplace, but the payments were all backed by amazon. Turned out it was a scam but amazon refunded the full amount about a month later... |

Don't send them your info or your name and address will end up on one of their fake id's. |

Western Union trading method has been use by scam-artists for a long time. I second what MK said. |

I'll even tell him I'll pay the paypal fees (pretty much knowing that would be his excuse) |

Definitely NOT! And you are putting good money at risk, by trying to get him... I'm sure he'l get his soon enough. Personally, I'd send the e-mail to e-bay's fraud department and let them investigate.

When I was looking into this last year with a motorcycle, I found it was a scam, the guy told me. But, before he confessed, I did a little research and found out that Ebay, themselves, don't ensure any sale. Paypal offers buyer protection, but ebay does not. At least that is what I was told by one of their representatives last year. Anyone who only excepts Western Union and states that Ebay will cover you is lying. But either way, even if Paypal were involved and the guy scammed you, Paypal would suffer and therefore raise their fees. Crooks make it a difficult and expensive world to live in. I say buyers get the sellers address and they go over there and buy it from them. If they are lying, they should be beat. |

watch it closely. e-bay are normally pretty good at spotting these. it'll be closed off before it even expires. |

That's why b&h has no 30Ds, this idiot hijacked the truck and is selling them on ebay.
See if works - and get me one too. I'll give you $1000 for one. you can make a profit and we all win!
