as to what to sell my stuff for. I need to sell everything. Would like to sell it as a package. But I have no idea on how much to ask. The list:
Canon EOS 20D
EF-S 60 mm macro
EF-S 17-85 mm IS USM
EF 75-300 IS USM
Remote Switch RS-80N3
Gossen DigiSix Light Meter
2 batteries and charger
2 1 gig Lexar 80x CF cards
CP for both size lenses
UV for both size lenses
Canon backpack style bag
All manuals, software, cables
All under 10 months old (some newer), all in excellent condition

To sell as a package any ideas? Better to sell in pieces? (I am afraid I will be stuck with something that will no longer be useful if I do that) I know what I paid for all of it but I also looked on ebay for prices and they are all over the place and hard to put together a price as a package. I stink at this type of stuff, I am too generous. Anyone got suggestions?

If you sell in pieces, let me know how much you are selling your 75-300. I'm getting ready to buy one. Send a PM

I have no choice. I am selling my lights and studio stuff too - Impact 3 light set and a 28" light tent. I am very depressed about the situation. But unfortunately I have no choice.

I'm really sorry to see this. I hope whatever hardship you are going through turns the corner soon. I hate to see anyone have to sell all their stuff, but it happens. You're in my thoughts.

What on earth could force this unfortunate situation? I might be interested in lighting.

It is a lot more work but I think you would get more for it all if you sell separately, especially on Ebay. I sold stuff in a package before but didn't get nearly as much as I had expected for it.

What kind of lighting gear did you say your are selling? I would be interested to hear how much you wanted for it.

Sorry to hear this, Chris. I hope things work themselves out soon.

Light Set

This is the exact light set. I have had it less than 3 months. All works and is in excellent condition. Shipping would be expensive since it comes packed in a carry bag. Because of that I would ship to US addresses only.

If you are interested, make me an offer.

Sorry that you have to sell! I would try a couple of smaller packages as I think that would be the best $ result.

I would split out the remote, light meter and macro lens because they are specialised and more interest to people that already have some gear and would not want the camera and main lenses.

The 17-85, UV, CF cards, batteries and body would make a decent starter package by itself. Maybe also with the 75-300 but IMO you would probably better off doing it as a seperate item also.

Dunno about the backpack cause they are personal things, maybe throw in with the body, maybe seperate.

Hope some of this helps....

Chris, I don't want you to sell your stuff. I really like your pictures. :( I think in another thread I said Costco is selling the *ist for $550. It doesn't compare to the D20, I know. But, I'd hate to see you completely sans camera. Maybe you could get it as something to get you through until you get through this hard time?

How much are you thinking for the D20?

How much for the remote switch?

Remote Switch RS-80N3

I have been meaning to buy one of those. I could take it off of your hands asap if you don't sell all as a package. Let me know.

I too hate to see anyone that enjoys photography and is as good as you are especially give up their stuff. But if you HAVE to sell it, I would sell each individually, except would put ONE lens and the backpack with the 20D body. Probably the lens that would sell the cheapest. Wish we could afford to buy it all from you, kinda almost the perfect package for us (my wife has the 20D and two lenses, all we can afford right now - okay, so we could not really afford that but I love her LOL).

So, many regrets and hate to see you have to sell, good luck and hope all works out for you, honestly!

How much for the Lexar 1gb cards? How old are they?
03/20/2006 08:19:31 PM · #17
Chris I'm so terribly sorry. I hope things looks up for ya. I figure when something really shitty happens, maybe something else is around the corner. My dad always said "Ten years from now, you'll never know the difference."

I love that light kit set but not a fiscally good time for me either.

Take care and hugs ;~D

What's your price on the macro. Pm me if that's better.

Sorry to hear you have to sell. If there's any way we can help out, we will try. This group can do some amazing things.

im looking at jumping into the dslr market right now. dont know if you are willing to sell some of the stuff individually and at what price, but i may be interested. Especially in the camera. Let me know. sorry to hear you have to get rid of all your stuff though.

This maybe a bit out of line. I don't know your circumstances for having to sell your equipment. But I will give you $100.00. I am not buying anything. Nor would I want to buy anything. Just figure I could help better then buying gear from someone who really doesn't want to sell it.

This is a serious offer just send me a PM and will get it sent out to you no matter where you are.

It's always more profitable to sell stuff off individually, even though it's more of a PITA.

I might be interested in the CFs, batts and remote. PM me if you are interested and we can talk.

Chris,
I hope you, at least get a good P&S to keep yourself active on this site, until things pick back up for you. Your work is so cool, and I'd hate to see you disappear!

Your mojo is on the way.

Can't you sell a kidney or something? :)

Sorry you have to get rid of your stuff, I wish you the very best...
03/20/2006 10:27:06 PM · #24
I can't afford $100, but I'd be willing to put up $20 to help you save your camera.
03/20/2006 10:31:06 PM · #25
I would throw in a few $$s, Chris, if it would save your hobby.
