I have a request to do some Easter pictures of my co-worker's kids. I don't have any backdrops. I would also like to find something that I could drag outside with me (I know I'm weird). I keep envisioning a large frame of some kind that I could through large pieces of cloth over. Like for the Easter pictures, I'd like a flowered background because the little girl's going to be wearing a bumble bee outfit.

The only place I buy my backdrops from:

If you are trying to do it on the cheap. PVC pipe can be used to construct the frame. Just draw it out and buy the appropriate joints. I'd use at least 1 inch PVC.

As far as the backdrop itself goes, buy some unbleach muslin from a fabric store. I bought some at Walmart 90" wide by 15' for < $30. You can dye it with fabric dye or paint it with latex paint.

But... but... but... why? I only use backdrops because indoors it's too ugly or too complicated of a background. Outdoors, there's gotta be something more "easter like" than a backdrop, no? Anything that is green with spring flowers should look awesome. Throw in a little basket or chair or fence or something and you're all set.

I'm gonna have to agree. I'm not sure why you'd want to use a back drop outside.

Actually, I was thinking of outside backdrop for another picture I want to do. But, the reason I'd do it for Easter pictures is that things don't get really nice and green here for another few weeks at least. More like end of April really.
