So I got back from a few hours of shooting and have a handful of decent captures that I was excited to post process...
Downloaded to my machine from the 2Gig card...made a backup to my external hard drive.
Opened up PhotoShop's (CS) file browser, and let the cache build. The thumbnails were displaying, as per normal.
Went upstairs to do a quick chore, and while I was there I put the card back in the 20d, and Erased All.
Back downstairs.
Selected an image I wanted to view in the larger thumbnail of the File Browser and it turned black. Every picture started to turn black. Tried to open it in the Raw converter...black.
Went to my backup directory.
Black.
Has anyone had this experience?
Good thing I'm not a wedding photographer...but it still irks me. |

I can't help with the problem on the 'pooter, but I can tell you that the files are still there on the card, if you haven't shot with the cam. There is image recovery software out there that can recover them easily enough. Others may be able to recommend specific software, or you can google "image recovery software."

Thanks for that. Still a noooooob when it comes to this stuff...
Downloaded.
Installed.
Running...running....
looks like it might take an hour or two to run...fine with me, as long as it works! :-)
Thanks for the recommendation.
Since everyone is on the edge of their seat with regards to this thread, I'll post back results later on... :-)
(I knew DPC would instantly get me on the right track) :-)

Everything is a-ok, thanks to DPC (rex and kirbic to the rescue).
Now, everyone can carry-on with their lives now that this has been resolved.
Thanks again, fellas.
