So I'm starting to think about getting a tablet, is there any other brand I should consider besides Wacom?
They seem like they are the Canon of tablets. :)

I've never seen a graphic arts professional use any other brand. Must be a reason.

I had one from Trust, it is quite ok, but you know, when one compares the one I have now from Wacom, the old one was like riding a bike (at least not walking on foot :-) ) and a Wacom being a lovely comfortable Mercedes.

Anastasia, do you use it for Photoshop or for other interests? Does it significantly improve your workflow? Is it the type of thing that since you've used it, you can't imagine going back to a mouse?
Thanks.

having used a Wacom for the past 11 years i can safely say i will never buy a cheap tablet ie Trust.
why? everything about a Wacom oozes quality - u don't have to worry about replacing the battery in the stylus (pen) because of Wacoms electro magnetic filed and the way it works with the stylus.. a Wacom stylus is about the same balance as a BIC biro.. Trust? well its the same as the Wacom stylus + 1 AA battery!
i know plenty of ametur artists who spent $50 on a trust tablet only for it to break or something happen to it after a couple of months and they then end up paying out for a Wacom..
how does it effect workflow? the accuracy of selecting pixels, drawing a marquee with the lasso tool vs a mouse, theres no competition you'll get a much better selection using the Wacom.
the barrel switch on the side of the stylus can be programmed to be anything you want - in PS i have the bottom of the switch allocated to 'alt' and the top of the switch as 'space' i can then sweep around the screen without having to place my left hand on the keyboard, i can also select colour or set a clone point with ease :)
being a graphic artist i also paint with it, and the 1024 pressure levels allow me to have total control over the amount of colour placed on the screen :)
