Ok only reviving this thread as I promised to let you know what happened at the dentist.

Went on Monday ( losing £140 for the day's work!) for him to spend 5 minutes telling me it was mostly temp. filling that had come out ( certainly LOOKED like tooth to me!). He then put another temporary filling in and told me to come back for my next appointment ( in April) and he would put permanent filing in.

Well the new filling lasted less than 24hours! I'm now giving up on those and waiting for the perm. filling and hoping it wil be finished with.

At least he didn't charge me this time!

Here is just my opinion:
First I have been to the dentist since I was about 2 or 3. I never developed the enamel so everything that touches my teeth sticks and causes cavities. I didn't find that out until I went to a real dentist when I was about 25. That is your first clue... get a dentist that makes you comfortable and that knows what the hecl he is talking about.Next thing even if you barely feel anthing at all... tell them that it hurts and they will give another shot..don't wait until you are about to come unglued and don't try to be tough.. if you are really that tough you would drink a bottle of whiskey and bust out some pliers from the toolbox. Also as a professional dental patient-- ask them aboout a dam if possible...its that piece of plastic.. its awkward, but it keeps from getting all that crap running into your throat and that what grosses me out the most..
