Dear fellow DPC'ers

I work as a lecturer in a traning establishment for theater professionals in Scotland.

For our next Opera, Rinaldo by Massinet, we need to project some photographic images as part of the set design.

I have supplied the majority of the images but am missing a photograph of night stars. (living in the city, this isn't an easy shot to get due to light pollution)

If any of you have a decent size and quality tiff or high quality jpeg image that you would like to send me that we can use in the production the students and I would be most grateful.

No payment I'm afraid, but a credit in the programme for your photography and massive good karma awaits. I can also send you copies of any production shots featuring your photograph if required.

Previous production shots here to let you see the size and quality of our productions last year.

Post back here or PM me if you think you have a "stars" shot we could use.

Thanks for reading

When you say "Your Help Required" - do you mean you require our help or do you mean we are required to help? Either way, unless you want to project woodies, I have to bow out. ;-)

Jist messin with ya. Sounds like a fun project. ...well it would if I liked Opera. Best of luck to you, Steve. I'm sure you'll get the right help shortly.

uh... "bump"

it's definately me who requires help

Further discussions have led to a design look of the moon AND stars as a projected image.

Unless I'm mistaken this would be extremely difficult (or impossible) to do since the moon is a fairly bright object in the sky making the stars beyond invisible in a photograph.....(please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't tried this)

Assuming I now have to make up a composite, does anyone have EITHER a stars or moon shot I could use?

Again , thank you

I'd happily let you have star shots, but I've lived near Seattle for too long now...... don't quite remember what stars look like, all we ever see is cloud :-(

Send a PM to Strangeghost; he's WAY into astrophotography and should be able to whip you up a composite.

Finally got around to reading the whole thread. I have oodles of moon shots as well. I'd be happy to try to work up a composite that would meet your needs. Contact me via email (address coming in a return PM) and we'll sketch out what your needs are.
