Same here. Kind of depressing really... getting a blue really raises your standards, and you sort of expect to ribbon every time you submit a shot you're proud of... and are always disappointed. The most annoying thing is it was one of the shots on my portfolio i put the least effort into, just a snapshot i'd only entered on a whim... then i spend over four hours on a shot like my afterlife entry, and it tanks! :) You never can tell, i suppose.

Wow Riot, just skimmed through your profile page and you're still hitting a high six average man... thats awesome!

But I guess scoring a Blue does raise your own standards quite a bit.

Stressful. I had inadvertently written over my capture, and I was frantically trying to recover the original to avoid a DQ.

I felt honored and humbled to be voted into the top 3. It's a great feeling, but also addictive, as you want to get back there again, and again, and againâ�¦ Luckily, I have gotten past the "Ribbon Addiction" and back to just wanting to take good photographs.

Thanks. My average is actually 5.9, which is still nothing to complain about, but the "addiction" is still there in the back of my mind... don't want to go out a one-hit wonder!

When I win my first I'm gonna leave a very long post in the threads, thanking everyone from my mother to the guy that cleans the toilet at the gas station I last peed at.

Then I'm gonna smoke a big Cuban cigar, sip wisky and read the comments of congrats. :-)

Oh, and laugh at all the comparisons to certain former entries :-P

I'm reluctant to point it out to you, but figure "aw, what the hell." I looked at your profile and saw that you already got a ribbon... the mythological, yet highly coveted, "brown" ribbon with your "Even" entry. ;-)

Don't worry, you'll have a ribbon soon enough. If I can do it, anybody can. 91 percentile on your last entry is pretty darn good, keep up the good work!

When I was still hitting the "update" button, I was just thrilled that I'm getting the highest score for my camera, and also my personal best.

Then rollover...

got mine on my 4th entry, unbelievable feeling coz it was totally unexpected! Had to check and re-check that it was actually mine on the mainpage.

Aftermath...

Now getting a 6 score dont excite much, and it's hard for myself to beat my personal best. I'm dismoralized somewhat. Recent pics are in the 5's...
