Not a true photo, but maybe the general idea?

For this, you pretty much have to "cut out" the subject with your choice of selection tools and paste it on top of the border.

Here are a few I am referring to. I guess with advanced editing it may be pretty simple, but just to clarify I am not really sure. Maybe someone can explain?
