I just got a Nikon D50, and someone asked if old film lenses were compatable with it. They have a Nikon 35mm film camera, and an Albinar ADG 80-200mm lens to go with it. They've offered to give me the lens if I can use it since they don't use it anymore. Can anyone tell me if it will work or how I would figure that out? Thanks! :)

Many Nikon bayonet lenses will work with the D50, including those made for manually operated cameras, like the NIkon 'F'. However there are a few that can damage your D50 if attached, such as Nikon Pronea lenses. There is a table in your D50 manual on pages 106 and 107 that tells you exactly which can be used.
