I have a Konica Minolta A200 that has a fixed lens. I know you can buy step-up rings for filters with higher diameters than the 49mm lens on the camera. Rather than doing that with filters, I just buy 49mm filters. Anyway, I would like to use a telephoto or macro lens with this camera but I'm not sure it's possible. When I look at step-up rings, mostly what I see are "lens to filter" rings.
Does anyone have any words of advice on this?
Thx,

Hi Lisa
Had a look at your profile - Very nice area you are living in. Some nice photos there.
I am way more amateur than you - Only recently bought my Canon. I am discovering equipment that I never knew was on the market (due to the price, I can only dream) Thus I can't help you. I will be watching the replies you get though.

Step up rings can be used when the threads on the attachment lenses are more than the threads on your adapter.
On my G3, the adapter I have is 52mm but the Canon teleconverter lens is 58mm. I use a 52-58 stepup ring to attach the teleconverter to.

You said "lens to filter" rings... That 'is' what you want. A macro lens or a teleconverter lens is a filter, unless you are talking about a proper macro or telephoto lens for a dSLR. I think you can buy a macro lens like the Nikon 6T or a teleconverter, and attach it just like a filter to the step-up ring you get. I am not sure about your camera, but a little searching on the net and you will know which macro and teleconverters are suitable for your camera.

The camera has a fixed lens and I have a 49mm UV filter on it. So, if I get the 58mm telephoto lens, I can use a 49mm to 58mm and it's that easy?
I think I'm gonna get this:
Ebay Stuff
Smilebig, Thanks for that link :)
