Although I'm a Nikon guy I have a pair of Canon IS Binocs and the Canon SD300 in my profile (really my wife's). Both have been in for repair in the last year.
When I sent my Binocs in they replied in a prompt manner and charged a reasonable fee to fix the IS and did an overall clean and tune job at the same time and promptly returned them. I was quite happy.
Then the SD300 had the LCD screen cracked (our fault) so we sent it in expecting it to cost $80 as that was the phone quote I got. It was returned to us in less than two weeks fixed, tuned up and with a zero balance. Even though it was not covered by warrantee they did the repair for free as a courtesy!
Pretty good service I would say. Hope if the time comes for me to use Nikon service, which I have never had to as yet, they are as good.

I just took my 20D in to Canon on Monday for a cracked lcd. They charged me $180 for just the labor, but didn't charge me for the cost of the lcd due to a glitch in their system or something. That saved me a bit, and the free tune-up is much needed. I saw about 15 other customers in the waiting room there, everybody had a dslr in for repair except one lady with a small camcorder. |
