I sure hope this turns out to be a joke being played on Manic35.
But what is wrong with you people?
If you review Manic35's postings you will see she expresses nothing but what looks to be legitimate concern about the remark.
But because she admitted she is the model DPCers, sensitive as they are (sic.), have turned it into an elaborate ruse by her, her husband and probaby others to dupe us.
Obviously the commenter has to know the images they are commenting on were theirs since they were made before close of challenge. It is further known that the individual is probably in their area because the IP addresses match. That is something to be concerned with.
Until proven otherwise this should be treated as a case of inappropriate commenting or stalking. That goes well beyond the scope and purpose of DPC.
I hope this turns out to be nothing more than a joke. I hope it is a way a husband choses to compliment his wife. That would be touching and appreciated by wives everywhere. If that proved to be the case then move on to the much less significant issue of vote tampering. In that case I'd hope the SC would mitigate it's action based on the specific situation.

And do you honestly think one 10 vote is going to make that much difference out of 100+ votes?
I think maybe we should just lighten up on the whole "conspiracy" theory here and give the lady a break.
Just my two cents though.
Now I'm not saying that there aren't any duplicates account out there and that things of that nature don't happen. I'm just saying that I don't think that was the case here. I think we just need to keep in mind that this is a site about having some fun, learning some stuff and challenging ourselves. Afterall, they are just "Virtual" ribbons we are competing for people. |
I think you are right on with this. I had similar comments left on two of my images (see urablessing2me's comment lol //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=139639 & //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=158486) I was mad at first thinking someone could leave such comments. Then I found out that before those comments I had house sat for some friends and they saw DPC in the history so they went and created an account just to play with me (there was no voting on these).
I really think it could be the husband or someone else maybe making you feel better about the yourself and more comfortable with posing nude.
By the way it is a very nicely done image.

Omigosh! You ARE the same person. :-)
And - revelation! There's really only one photographer in Iceland using hundreds of accounts. This explains a lot! |

I have an attic, but I'd hope he'd tidy it up some before he tried to live in it. It's a wreck!

Your dog can help with that too, they like toilets.
But seriously, yeah, it could be a stalker that has gotten on to her IP from a wireless connection. The dude could be sitting out on the street right now.
Good reason to NOT broadcast your network ID, and use a password to connect with it.
Then again, it's prolly the hubbie. |

I spend a LOT of time voting as it is. Were I to have an extra account, that additional time wouldn't be worth giving myself a 6 on my entry. Heck, I'd probably only give myself a 5 most of the time.

I think you mean IP not ISP if you did the ISP you could prevent 100's of users from participating. But the same IP what are we talking 3 maybe 4 votes? It’s not worth the hassle.
Just My $.02 |
Yeah IP.. Thanks :)
I guess you're right about it not being worth the hassle. I have really no idea what would be involved to implement something like this, and it seems like most people feel that this is not a big problem on DPC.
It would not eliminate the problem either, since you could have accounts at home- work- the library etc, it would just make it little harder for some.
To Rose, and others who feel like you;
Adversary- even if “Imagined” or real provokes you to work harder, learn more and potentially become more skilled. It is only a matter of how you look at it :) “Cheaters” on a website like DPC are only cheating themselves.

Just a reminder, keep to the discussion, and don't resort to personal attacks just for the sake of trying to start something. If this thread can't be kept on track, then it doesn't need to exist. Personally, I want to keep it on track, so it can continue as a discussion so that maybe the OP will respond and we can all find out what their explaination is. |
