Is there anything like this? somthing that works off AC and plugs into a regular light socket?
What if i put them in all the lights aroudn my room and then took a picture? i would get better light at all the points i have my lights now.

Most are optical slaves, so they will work with ANY camera that produces a flash. They pic up the flash from your camera and fire instantly.
The AC screw in types like This one will work with the clamp lights.

Thats cool, these would be neat to have in your camera bag and just slip em into any light fixture that is available. I wonder if they will trigger threw a lamp shade?
Are these any better? the one on e-bay say Power Range: 45WS Guide Number 55 with ISO 100 - 28 m (92 ft)
does that mean anything? are they brighter?

Yes, they should trigger through a lam shade. And those look like they should be brighter and probably a bit more directional.
