I need a little advice upon which Filter to Buy between Hoya and Canon.
I am getting my new Canon 70-200 USM IS and I was wondering is there really a significant difference in the quality.
The Price suggests there should be a difference, but is there ? ? ? |

Make sure the filter is multi-coated. Hoya has 3 grades of polarizers.
1) not multi-coated
2) multi-coated
3) super multi-coated |

| Is there a difference in quality though, as I would hate to purchase Hoya only to find it is lackinq quality after spending my savings on a class Lense |

I use grade 3 as I want to have the most control over reflections. Also, the coatings will help eliminate any issues with flare etc.
As far as comparing to Canon, I've never used a Canon filter. |

Also, it's a circular polarizer you want. Linear polarizers interfere with metering and autofocus.
It could be the difference in cost you see is between linear and circular polarizers. Circular ones cost more.
Canon doesn't specify if theirs is multicoated or not. |
