I̢۪ve been using the auto white balance setting on my D70s and for the most part have been very happy. However, I̢۪m having some issues in the studio that I figure may be related to using it in auto WB mode. In shooting a studio session I̢۪m getting varying skin tones base upon what I have to assume is just my movement and positioning from the subject as no other settings change (lights, shutter speed, fstop, iso) Everything remains the same except my focal length or position so that leave me to believe that this is a auto WB issue? I am shooting in RAW but would like to be able to batch process an entire session and have consistent skin tones so that my editing is narrowed down to cropping and blemish removal, softening/sharpening etc.
If the auto WB sensoring is where my problem lies, what is the best course of action for setting my WB, using one of the presets or doing a custom gray card for each session? This is my home studio so things remain consistent, once I establish my gray card WB setting would I need to re-evaluate it for each session or could I hold it true my setup?
Any help is appreciated.
