If I should do anything wrong here, please let me know. I've been enjoying the site for a few days now. Just got my new camera yesterday and loving it so far! Big change from my HP photosmart 320 2.1MP 4x digital zoom haha I've always loved photography, but never did anything about it. Thought about doing the stock photography when and IF I get better and learn a few things. Anybody have anything negative to say about the stock photography? I've heard the good...just wanted to hear some negative (besides the part about not getting much for your photos) But my photos will just be sitting in my computer anyway, so if I get some good shots....why not!!! haha
And please, if I post too much...just let me know! I'm crazy about posting pics and I know I can go overboard sometimes :D
Ok heading to the Individual Photo Discussion now...gonna try to post a pic if I can figure it out.... |

Welcome to the site :)
Microstock - Easy to get into. No $ need to start. Doesn't pay much, but more uploads.
Macrostock - Better equipment needed (sometimes), requires higher megapixels, larger portfolio, send in cd's, etc. May require $$ for space, cd burning, mailing. Pays more, but less uploads.
If you think your pictures are worth a lot, and don't want to make less then they are worth I would just stick with selling prints.
Read all FAQs before submitting. If you don't agree on a part of their requirements don't submit to them.

I useShutterstock
I personally think its good for me, but do bear in mind it takes quite a while to upload/keyboard all your photos, so you do have to put in effort before you see money coming in from the photos 'on your hard-drive'. Also, I find I need regular uploads to keep the sales steady
