Depends on what you want to shoot. The 50mm is the standard and is quite a bargain for the sharpness. If you decide to get one off e-bay make sure it is either the f1.4 D or the f1.8 D lens and not the older models.

hrmm...I have one, and haven't used it in at least a few months, but note that I do still have it...so yes, I'd say it's definately a lens everyone should have.

Even with the ISO flexibility of a dSLR it's still good to have at least one truly fast lens and the 50mm is the cheapest fast lens available. It also makes a very nice portrait lens with the DX crop factor. |
