lens, not sure why i keep typing lense, sorry.
Alot of the SLR cameras have this little rubber grip thing on the front. What is that little section called? are there more then one name for it? the lens grip?

Focus ring (very front end) and/or Zoom ring (middleish) are usually what the rubber covers on a lens.

So if i wanted to replace that grip on an older lens what would i search for? focus ring, or zoom ring?

What lens is it that we are looking for? That might help narrow it down.
There are a lot of people out there looking for the Rubber Focus ring grip but not finding them.
Some are making their own
I'm not finding anyone that makes after market rings for these things.

What about R/C car tires? Maybe cut them into strips. Ill have to find out the diamiter.

or better yet, grip wrap used on golf clubs and other stuff...

Cool! ill have to look around for that. Thanks for the help.
I did find some nicon "pinc grip" rings but they are all for 62mm lenses. I could cut it maybe and rubber cement it on ill have to search a little more before i decide.
