Ok I got my D-50 and they gave me the 18-55. I need a better and affordable 70-200 or 300 lense. Any suggestions on where I might go and remember its for D50.

Thanks,

If you want affordable, have a look at this $190 lens:

If you are ready to spend more, the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 sounds like a very good and affordable choice. The Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR are some of the best lenses in the market, but they are expensive.

Depends on how much you want to spend. If you can go $900 look at the Nikon 80-200 f2.8.

Nikon Zoom Telephoto Zoom-Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 ED AF-D Autofocus

Quality is everything in a lens and you will never be sorry you saved and then bought a quality lens instead of compromising.

Good luck.

I agree with jbsmithana. Don't blow a couple hundred dollars on a medocre lens that gives you OK results. Save up a few hundred more dollars and go with something high quality that will give you GREAT results.

The Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 lens is great and it can be found used on eBay for around $700-$750 in excellent condition. I just bought one about a month ago and you couldn't tell that it was ever used.

You might even try the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens, but it is near impossible to get right now as everyone is sold out of this lens. Demand is high and supply is low, so stores are ripping people off by charging $899 for it. It should be had for about $700-$750 brand new as soon as the supply catches up with demand.

Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

Sigma 70-300 APO will serve you fine. If you want to upgrade then a 80-200 or a 70-200 VR would be good choices.
