I hate it when people do this. I am just as guilty as the rest.
It is just $25 damn dollars. It is not like you are spending a fortune. If you don't wish to renew just bow out and leave. No need to post it. If you think you have learned everything then you are wrong and you could always write tutorials for us that know nothing.

I renewed just to support a site that I sometimes enjoy. For $25 is it really gonna put a damper on your wallet??? And for all you've learned and participated you can always pop in check the weekly challenges and if they tickle your fancey then you can enter. I find people such as yourself grow bored with DPC and they lose the point of shooting which is to have fun and shoot what you want, not what some website wants. If you have a shot that fits a challenge then enter, if not then at least your getting back into shooting for you.

I went through this same thought 3 weeks ago. I took a look at the site that non-members see. You miss a lot, you don't have a real portfolio, and you have no option to enter the member challenges if you wish. I haven't entered any challenges since I renewed, but I like the option and the use of the portfolio. For $25, go ahead.
I have no idea how non-members do it. Its like have 1/3 of a website... |

I renewed...Heck, if you get inspired to enter one of the 52+ member challenges, it's worth it. I just couldn't imagine being limited to basic editing rules.

What, is this supposed to be some sort of guilt trip for the rest of us? If i were in your cheap shoes, i'd renew just to support a site that has nurtured your creativity for so long. Otherwise, i'd not make such a great damn self-obsessive fuss about it. If you want to leave us, shut up and do it. I don't see what you hope to achieve by asking this question here, except fishing for complements or sycophantic requests to stay.

| Where would you get all the support that you've gotten here? I mean, all the recent free bumps/advertisements of your two attempts to sell your Rebel on Ebay (that went on for weeks), not to mention how you agonzied for days in the forums when you first got your Rebel about getting rid of it for the Nikon D70 instead, that also went on infinitum...All that without a peep out of the site council or administrators of this web site! You'd have paid dearly for all that on another web site and many don't even allow bumping. Instead of leaving DPC why don't you give back and contribute more? (Not talking money here) You may find that you still have a lot more to learn. |

Well, Jeremy, in the two years you've been a member of DPC you've entered 89 challences, had your profile viewed over 14,000 times, and have contributed in one way or another to an untold number of Forums.
If that does it for you, well then, as we said in the old days - See Ya Later Alligator!
Your decision, dear. Not ours. |

I never ponder $25 expenses too long. It's a go or no go. No drama about it.

Let the wind be your guide, let the earth be your foundation.
The decision you make will forever be yours, and yours alone.
Or, I guess its just what ever you decide. |

We all get discouraged Jeremy. For the first few months I was here I only paid by the month due to not quite liking the forum activity. I eventually paid for the year, and if "I" will keep a membership where I seem to cause and receive a TON of controversy, then so should you IMO. I stay for the challenges mainly, and really not for any other reason. BUT, I also understand that some people are just spent emotionally and creativly at times. They need more creative ways to spend their time. If that is how you feel, then not renewing may be for you. If you are undecided, you can always hang on with $5 a month until your final decision. There are also others sites out there that may spark your interest more. Just a thought, but I like to belong to as many as possible. DPC is one of the more challenging sites to me for challenge submissions, and challenges are my highest interest. It may not be yours, but if you like at least entering challenges, and being challenged by those challenges, then I say cough up the 5 bucks?
I wish you well whatever you decide.

ya know .. if anything renew so you have that ability for the member challenges (just last week there was only 100 something entries - ya never know)
I also renew for the option to sell prints - or if anything to make prints for yourself at pretty good prices ...
either way - it's your decision ... we'll all still be here - hope to see you around :)
