It's a shame... maybe a GTG in the summer would fit better with everyone's schedules. You'd think with the amount of Texans on this site we'd had filled that canyon.

I will have to say April might be the prettiest time to be there. The trees will still be bare mid March.

I live in the Austin area - and your current date is not as convenient for me.

But Texas has been having fairly warm weather - Palo Duro Canyon is a hidden treasure. If you can get away, it is worth the time and effort to visit Texas version of the Grand Canyon. June can be HOT, but you might get a chance to photograph those mega thunderstorms on the prairie.
