Ok, here we go.

As some already know, I've got an 80-200 f/2.8L lens for my upcoming 30D purchase that will probably occur within the next couple of months.

I was told that there are some incompatibilities with Canon Teleconverters with this lens, but Kenko works really well.

Well, I had a chance to verify this a little and I tried out the Kenko 2.0x TC on a shooting outing with a friend of mine.

It was fantastic!

My friend is a bit busy this month because his brother is visiting from Eastern Canada, so he hasn't sent me a CD for close inspection of the pics, but the handling (with the 300D) was phenomenal, both with and with the TC.

He has the white Pro series Kenko TC.

I was a little unclear when browsing B+H's list of TC products because I couldn't seem to see if they had the full line of Pro Series Kenko TC's.

I was wondering if anyone out there had anything to comment on these TC's in general in reference to all lenses, not just the 80-200. I will probably get another lens later on, but for the beginning will likely try to get by with the 18-55 and the 80-200 and pick up a 50mm and possibly the 100mm prime before getting anything else like the Tamron 28-75 or a wide angle lens.

I am primarily interested in the top end stuff, as I'm sure others are, but I'm always on the lookout for budget gear that kicks a little tail (like the aforementioned Tamron lens).

Please feel free to comment on:

Canon 1.4x TC (I understand this to be the best choice)

Canon 2.0x TC (I understand this is not a great choice)

Kenko 1.4x TC

Kenko 2.0x TC

Kenko 3.0x TC

or anything else that is worth looking at. Details on how one TC compares to another would also be appreciated.

I have the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300DG x1.4 use with 70-200mm 4L with no noticable side effects for the price it can't be beat.

**Off Topic** hey Nick I know you like sports related shooting... San Diego dSLR Photography group is doing a private tour of petco park on the 11Th (shots for personal use only)...

I had heard that the Canon 2.0x introduced noticeable softness.

I'm partly trying to find out how it compares to the Kenko Pro version.
