Took a little blue out of the foreground; the rest of it is straight from camera. Temperature around 15 degrees...

Pity there's no way to crop it square :-)

Well, it was BRIGHTER for sure, but it was WAY colder, and yesterday it was so windy I got blown off the playing field (so to speak); I drove allt he way back to P-Town for a low-tide Truro Beach shot and the further North I got the windier it was. At Truro the wind was at least 50 MPH and the the wind-blown sand was scouring my skin, so I elected to behave responsibly and didn't even take the camera out.

THIS morning it was still as cold as a grave-digger's kiss, but at least the wind was down. Unfortunately, no cliuds, so I just took my dawn shots then returned my frozen fingers and disgruntled dog to a more amenable locale, for which, I might remark, I received precious little thanks from her.

Uhh, Bear? I'm not coming to visit until it gets a tad warmer, if that's OK with you. Though I do have to say that it appears to be absolutely gorgeous this time of year there. Wonderful colors!

Ah, but that silly Kirbic guy is from Wisconsin, right? It's cold there too, or so I've read on the Internet and you *know* everything they put on the Internet is true!

Good point; out of the ice-tray into the freezer, as they say...

I have, in the distant past, lived in places like Wyoming and Nebraska, where it does indeed get a bit chilly at times. But my past two assignments have been to Florida and Texas, so I suspect the ol' blood has thinned a bit. If it gets below 50F here we all break out winter clothes. Heck, it even dropped below freezing at night twice so far! (It's currently a balmy 79F at the moment.)

Of course, our scenery tends to be bit more bland than in your neck of the woods....

Thanks. I actually sent you four files of almost the exact same thing. You might want to use one other than the one I did.

You took a photo whilst driving?!

Here's Nathan's original, uncropped. Neat Image and Focus Magic to smooth and sharpen. Foreground desaturated in bkue/cyan channels. Gradient on top. Hue/sat in red and magenta. Just a quick plunge.

I need to learn that "gradient on top" thing just in case I ever get a picture with interesting clouds in the sky.

I promise to give you a hands-on lesson when you visit :-)

Edit to add; it's actually MOST useful when you don't HAVE any interesting clouds in the sky...

That not having interesting clouds thing happens a lot around here. So how much trouble is it to get to where you are from Boston? On rare occasions (well, once, so far) I have to go to Boston for work related stuff....

I have in the past, but not in this instance. The photography while driving doesn't work when you're driving a bus. I actually pulled over for this one.

Now...taking pictures from my van while driving is another matter. Those are easy to do.

Dang it. I wish I was better at Photoshopping. I pretty much just "auto" everything. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Heck, all I did to the one I posted was crop it and resize it (I might have even sharpened it).

It's not a big problem. By car, it's a 2-hour drive, 45 mins of that actually ON the Cape and heading in my direction. There are buses that bring you down to Hyannis, where I can meet you. In decent weather, you can take a FERRY from Boston to Provincetown, where I can meet you. The ferry ride is fun, and P'town you'll want to see anyway.
