Anybody using Treo 650 out there?
If yes - how do you like it? |

| I have the treo 650 and I am not a big fan. It hangs when it loses the network when your on a call. The unit itself is huge and uncomfortable to make a call. My speaker phone doesn't work half the time. I have to refind my network almost each time I charge the phone so that means no email or calls during charging. I have to recycle the unit all the time. My IT that handles the units has more broken units sitting on his desk then any phones the Guard uses. So if it was my dollar I would go w/a different unit or a blackberry. |

I have one. I love it.
I use it for work and personal calendaring, sync it with Lotus Notes at work. It also syncs my contacts with Notes.
As a phone, it is very acceptable ... not the best but definitely not the worst. I like the speakerphone option when I need to take notes from the person talking to me.
Text messages are great because you can see the thread of the conversation (essential when you text your spouse with a question and 3 hours later they text a "yes" or "no" answer.
I don't use it for email or internet ... yet.
The camera is handy every now and then ... for example, when you're in a shop and you think you can make an item yourself, you snap a few pics and you have an instant reference.
Typing is easy with the thumbpad ... not too many errors. |

I've had my Treo 650 for over a year now and still love it. It has survived 2 drops. I do have complaints about it, but it has mostly to do with Palm's lack of software innovation and Sprint's use of CDMA (or lack of GSM).
I love my Treo, but it has room for improvement. |

Thanks everybody for the response.
I need a phone with scheduling, contacts, and notes and which can be synchronized with outlook on my office and home computer. I don't plan to use it for E-mailing or Internet at all.
Options from my provider is Treo, Audiovox PPC 6600,BlackBerry 7250 or 7130e. So far I have been using Sony Clie which I am always forgetting to carry with me.

I've had one for six months and am very happy with it. It synchronizes easily and reliably (to Entourage on my Mac) and reading/writing/sending email on it works fine. I believe there are ways to sync email too, but I don't need that.
The only thing to beware of is choosing the service provider for this phone: whatever you do, don't use Sprint. They managed to remotely destroy my previous PDA-phone. After weeks on hold with customer "service", I switched to Verizon and have had no problems since. But now Sprint claims I owe them $150 for premature contract termination!?! |

With Blackberry in a bitter court battle right now, I'd recommend against them for the moment. You COULD end up losing service in the near future if you if you go with them. |
