Went to Animal Kingdom this past weekend with the roomies - specifically with the intent to try to get some good photos. We were going to try the new ride - Expedition Everest - had the fast pass and everything, but decided to go on the Kilimanjaro Safari ride instead. It was a 60minute wait and I was really disappointed. The ride was so bumpy and the driver didn't slow down enough for me to get one decent shot on it. All the beautiful animals and they all came out blurry. Oh well...here are a few from my wanderings around the park. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions:

Some great shots, Katherine. I love the bengal tiger! I haven't been to Animal Kingdom yet - think I'll wait until I can go on a weekday rather than a weekend - I hate crowds. Good info about the safari ride though - I won't go on it hoping to get killer shots with that in mind and won't be disappointed - maybe! :P

Pretty awesome photos. Didn't know Disney had an animal park! Left some comments.

Animal Kingdom really is a great park. Lots of walk through areas with animals readily available for photos (especially in Africa and Asia) They also have a dinosaur area which is really popular with the kids. Summer is a little more difficult to get good animal pics because they don't want to move around as much in the heat. The park is more about the animals than rides, but they do have a few good ones. There is a "roller coaster" in the dino area - not good for small kids - can be frightening, some kids rides in the dino area, a water ride in Africa, the safari ride, the new Expedition Everest in Asia...

It really is a fun park to explore.

What's admission price for Floridians, Katherine?

$63 I believe, but they are running a special for Florida residents - my roommate bought a "play 3 day" pass for $137...and the days don't expire. I am a travel agent so I always buy the discounted agent rate tickets.

I went on everest 2 weeks ago. It is by far the best ride at any of the parks. I also agree that the safari is terrible for shooting.

The Animal Kingdom is my favorite of the parks.

Have you been on the Mission Space ride at Epcot? (I think that is what it is called). It is a gravitational ride (spins really fast so that you are "sucked" into your seat) with a 3D graphic display in front of you that makes you feel like you are on a space shuttle to Mars. Very intense and cool ride. So far it is my favorite at any of the parks - but of course I haven't been on Expedition Everest yet. I took my son on it and he loved it. They even have a "joystick" so that the kids can feel like they are "driving" the space shuttle.

Also...self gratuitous bump for the afternoon crowd...still fishing for comments! LOL!

I went on Mission to Mars the same day as Expedition Everest. I may never do Mission to Mars again - I felt sick the rest of the day from the spinning.

Everest is exciting, exhilirating, and doesn't make you want to lose your lunch. You could do it over and over again if you wanted (and could get through the lines).

Its more in line with Space Mountain, but much better done.
