I have a question....
I know some of you have the mathmatical know hows to figure out what score someone gave you.
I had a X.XXXX and with one vote... it jumped down to a X.XXXX. How do you figure out what that vote was?
I know this was discussed before, but I couldn't find it in the forums.

Idnic has a formula for this. You may want to pm her. |

Say you have 100 votes and your score is 6.0000, then after 101 votes your score rises to 6.0099.
You take 100*6.0000 = 600 points
then you take 101*6.0099= 607 points
so your last vote was a 7
You can use this to figure out an average over a certain period of time as well. I wen to bed the other night with 200 votes and awoke the next morning with 211. My total points had risen only 44 points, so overnight I only averaged a 4. Darn trolls.

i have the excel spreadsheet ;)
but here's an idea:
After 5 votes, your average is 8
After 6 votes, your average is 6.5
(6x6.5)-(5x8)= 1
Your 6th vote was a 1

Multiply your previous score by the number of votes you had. Multiply your current score by the number of votes you have. Subtract the previous number from the current number. You may have to round to get to a whole number, but that number should be the score you received.
Of course, this assumes someone else didn't just adjust an existing score at the same time :)
Edited: waaaay too slooow :)

guys, do keep in mind that
- some people left comments without voting
- some people change their original votes |

Just spotted this thread. Larry is right about the formula and Rikki is right that its easy and fast to make an excel spreadsheet to do it for you. Only works if you saw the score before the next vote given - if you miss a few you can average them out, but won't know the precise scores. I have one spreadsheet that I use occasionally - typically only when a challenge is doing well - and then erase for reuse after voting ends.
Feel free to PM if you have questions.
Edit to say - and Shin is correct too that some will change votes and some will comment without voting. Not too hard to spot those anomolies though.
