as many of you know i recently got the Rebel XT. I am wanting to purchase a macro lens for it but all the numbers and such are so confusing! the smallest lens i have right now is the EFS 18-55mm but i want to get closer than that. sould i be looking into the macro(magnifying lens) that i just screw onto the lens Im using or is there an actual macro lens that i can use? I like to get really close to my flowers(see 2005 portfolio done with the minolta Z1). With the Z1 i could almost touch the lens with the flower and I miss getting that close with this new camera so I need some serious help here!

what lens should i be looking to get?

Tamron SP 90mm 2.8 resonably priced and very sharp. I don't have a macro myself but my bud at work has the tammy for his Minotla 7D and the shots that I have seen are amazing right out of the cam.

thanks! I didnt think that the Z1 manual features were that much different from a Dslr but as usual I was wrong! at least i learned the basics with it. now all i got to do is learn how to work this thing and get the photos outta my head! hopefully before the GTG!
