AKA: Canon, Canon, Canon and Canon. :)
I don't need some guy to to put it on his strap to tell me these guys are loading a canon...
Now I don't really care for selective desaturation but I guess this would be a time to do it...
From the Mormon Infantry Celebration in Old Town San Diego today... I will post some serious shots in a bit...

LOL, love that shot. It is entertaining seeing an old scence with a photographer and 21st century technology.

Why the hired gun? Lots of long lenses and two bodies and he had to do a macro shot? LOL

I Told that photog to move...
Seriously, I'm guessing there is no good way to meter for canon flash is there. I know that a lot of this is flame but the only way one can tell is by how it lit up the old guys face. |

Supr WA shot I imagine, lots of gun barrel, 2 guys "framed" by the wheels, something like that. Hope he got out of the way before the bang...

Actually he is right next to the smaller building behind the smoke...with of all things the 70-200mm w/1.4 TC... guess he was going for the shallow dof or something? |

Beg to differ, but this ain't no 70-200 he's using here:
And that's the one we were discussing. Hmmph,,,,
On a more genial note, my kids' natural father was a mormon, and we went to this very event every single year, so I know the location well, and this brings a smile to my face.

I quoted it incorrectly... was meaning to snip to the Hope he got out of the way...part
Second shot where I got the blast, the hired gun switched cams to the one with the 70-200mm with the x1.4 TC.
This was actually a pretty festive event, I have never seen as many people that participated today in Old Town...pretty neat.

Man, if you think THAT was festive, try hitting Old Town in two months on Cinco de Mayo! It gets pretty hysterical along about nightfall...

If there is a way to intentionally meter for muzzle blast I haven't figured it out yet. This is one of my lickiest shots ever.
