First, let me say I'm starting this thread because I'm ADD and bored out of my mind while my 400ish shots from the day download....

That said....I planned to attend a Scotish Highland fesival today, mostly because I thought shooting guys in skirts would be fun :D no seriously, lots of culture, opportunities to shoot, near home......so that was the plan. THEN a friend stopped by, he and another friend were going to the MONSTER TRUCK RALLEY (can you say yeeee hawww!?) (rolls eyes) - and so - what was I thinking? - I offered him my back-up camera and memory so he could shoot the monster redne...cough...trucks while I shot the Scots! Well seemed like a plan this morning!!

Around 7 he calls - something about the green mode not giving good shots, like everything moves but the black zone taking better shots and oh the trucks are great!! THEN I realize the alcohol factor! Ack! I don't even know what he was talking about green/black mode - auto and program I think, but who knows really!!! He's toast! OMG My camera! What was I thinking? Its getting late and they haven't returned - they have a designated driver, so I'm not worried about that. More worried they caused a fight or some other male drinking game! lol

K, 'nuff ranting... I'll finish my downloads of the guys in kilts (nice!!) and share a few shots soon as I convert the RAW :)

LOL. Sorry to laugh at your expense, but you have to admit....it is kind of humorous.

I/m just reading this while my 300-400 - (edit- 473 shots) shots DL ....wedding today. No guys in kilts, no monster trucks, no hair pulling...rather boring really. LOL

I killed some time spending money..little money. I avoided the strobes and new camera - for now. Ordered a strap and memory card for the new camera (30D) so I guess i'm committed now!

The guys are back now - my camera is intact though they tell me the battery died before they were finished. I'm thinking that's probably a good thing. Will D/L the shots in the morning as I'm too stressed to see what they've done to my camera just now. Should be an interesting morining! lol

Can't wait to see in the morning, and thank goodness they and the camera made it home safely.

LMAO, Ken! Didn't see any bare bums - I'm amazed!
I downloaded all of the truck rally shots this morning and every single one (over 100) look like this:

I have no idea why. Firstly, the camera was on macro mode and auto focus was turned off, but that's because I let an idiot borrow the camera (kidding, mostly). But I've goofed with it for about 1/2 hour today and every shot still looks like that! They're all overexposed, flat, and have those lines running across them. Any ideas?

As for my own shots from yesterday - here are a few from the highland games:

I loved the birds of prey! :)

Oh god I hope not! lol Looks like he took a few shots before they left for the truck rally and those shots look just like the rest. I've tried everything I can think of and the shots still look like crap. I'm stumped :(

oh man....is there a possibility it was dropped? Have you taken some pictures with it to see if they come out normal? (fingers crossed for you!!!)

Those lines almost look like someone was taking photos of a TV screen. Strange.

Is that your 717 that's doing that? If so, my dad has a Sony DSC-P92 that just randomly started doing the same thing... He took it in to the shop to see what the deal was, and I'm pretty sure they had to replace the sensor... I'll double check with him to make sure, though...

Trey, its the 717. I've shot with it several times today while trying different settings, etc. Still has the lines, etc. :( Atleast it's not the 20D! Colyla, not sure if it was dropped or not, but I doubt it. My friend is definitely the type person who would tell me if he'd dropped my camera. I haven't used it in a month or so and it was fine then. Just sitting on its shelf since then.

It looks like sensor issue to me but I was sure hoping it would be something else - something silly like a setting I missed. :(

have you tried removing the batteries for an hour and putting in fresh ones?
If not, try and drop it... just kidding!

Since the battery was dead when I got it back last night I put a fresh one in this morning after I saw the pics and started trying to "fix" it. Dropping it sounds kind of tempting....
