I have Lexar compact flash cards. The camera store I used to go to back in the States said a while back that I should try SanDisc because of Lexar/Canon problems. This was back when my 300d was my main camera.
I have two 40x Lexar Cards and one 80x. I had some problems with the 80x many months ago and sent it in to be fixed. (It was part of the recall or whatever it was on those cards.)
Now I am scared to use it...LOL I use my 80x as a last resort. Am I just being silly? I am paranoid about losing images or files being messed up like they did before I sent it in.
Do Lexar and Canon still have issues? (specifically the 20d)
Thanks :)

I have two Lexar 1G 80X CF cards that were returned/replaced/repaired with the recall and use them both all the time with no problems at all.

Thanks for that. :o)
Is there any advantage using the 80x in the 20d over the 40x cards? I remember someone saying that it did not matter with the 300d because it did not support the 80x or something like that.

Just speed...the 80X in the 20D, from my experience, very rarely stops continuous shooting when just holding the shutter button down until the full burst rate or better has been achieved. For me it is usually better. In raw it keeps up nicely as well. |

teh rebel is 2Mb write speed, the 20D is 5Mb write speed. The 20D can utilize the faster card the rebel can't. If you use a card reader to DL the images then the faster card will make a difference (if using USB 2.0)

Thank you. Makes sense. Our card reader is built into the computer.

I had the Lexar 80X 1GB Pro CF card and I checked it to make sure it wasn't the one's being recalled, which it wasn't. However, it still crashed and they couldn't recover any of the shots.
I've been using kingstons for over 13000 shots without a single hiccup.

Thanks..I have had no problems with my two 40x cards. Only the 80x had issues and it was part of the recall. Still, it is nervewracking using a card that caused headache in the past..LOL
