Check out a couple shots from my first portrait shoot this morning. These were taken at a co-worker's house of her daughter Kennedy. There were about 10 shots that came out good enough to take to the editing stage. I've got a lot to learn, but this was a great experience. No pay for these shots, but the plan is to use these to lead to paying jobs. Feel free to leave comments. Enjoy!

Thanks for the comments, and Laura thanks for the PM! I will try that for sure. I'm reasonably happy with the lighting, but I should have paid more attention to the background. Fixing the background later on an object (for stock photography, for example) is a LOT easier than fixing the background on people! I would like to eventually get some seamless paper and/or backgrounds, but for the time being I'm making due. Any other comments are appreciated--keep 'em coming!

great start! the second one looks like the light needs lowered some more...notice the shadows under her eyes, nose, and on her chin...not very flattering...great eye contact there...shows you were working well with your subject
