Beautiful shots of what looks like a lot of fun. Do you participate? I think this exact sport is called paragliding. I'm going to start hang gliding lessons in the next month or two when the water warms up.

Explanation: I'll be launching from the back of a boat that will tow me to altitude on a cable similiar to a parasail operation. At about 1500-1800 feet I'll release the cable, glide, and eventually land on the water on floats attached to the hang glider.

I haven't started lessons yet and I'm already trying to figure how I'm going to take my camera and get some shots, control the hang glider, and land in the water without damaging the camera. That should really be a challenge.

No way. I think I'd die of fright if I went up in one of these things. But boy would I love to. The idea of flight totally intrigues me. I think I'll just stay firmly on the ground and shoot the gliders. :-)

BTW, there were some hang gliders in the area too, but I didn't get many pictures of them and, it looks like I didn't post any either. So much for my thread title... :-(
